More sewing

I made another Ereader cover my cousin. We did some brain storming and came up with the idea of Totoro!!! From the Japanese animation "my neighbor Totoro". We're both fans. So I got to work.

Totoro

And my Ereader version.

Some challenging areas were the tummy area with the small cut outs and I had to sew them on by hand. It was a little too small for my sewing machine.

All-in-all, I was pretty pleased with the turn out. Hope my cuz still likes it.

Crafty Stuff

I've been hard at work lately working on some e-reader covers. It seems like a hot item lately. I've mostly been working on Kobo touch covers. And I have to admit, it's pretty cool. It's much smaller and lighter than my kindle. And I have to say, I'm tempted but can't be justified in getting yet another e-reader. Ah, technology. It's a love-hate relationship I have with you. Here are some my creations.

Red hot sleeve with a flower sewn on.

Owl for my friend C. Turned out better than I had expected.

And for my Dane friend, A, who is living in the DK but is a true Canadian at heart - a Canadian Flag! Again, this worked out better than I had expected.

Inside lined with the super soft minky fabric to protect the screen.

You know A, if I was really thinking I should have put a Danish flag on the other side of the cover.

It's been a while...

It's been a very long while. Thought I should post something. Life has been keeping me busy. But I have been able to do some more crafts and sewing and such. I will be posting some of my new creations soon.

Recent Projects

Been working on some new projects this past little while. Worked on some tote bags and cosmetic bags for Christmas presents and also a few tea cozies.

Also I made a little pillow made of the softest material and dingle balls for my little cousin, Brea. I loved it! Aidan liked it so much that I had to make him his very own.

Photobooks

This Christmas I decided to make gifts for my best buds. I wanted to do something special for them that they could keep.

For a few friends, I made a photobook that included pictures of them and their loved ones. I bound and made/covered the covers myself.

Little mini albums were also made. I made a little square cut out so that the first picture in the booklet would show through.

Wedding Invitations

One of my biggest accomplishments was making our wedding invitations for our wedding last year. It was a pain in the A#* to make and VERY time consuming but in the end, I think they turned out fantastic! And I'm pretty proud of them. Another tid bit of information that many may or may not know. We sent out 2 different kinds of invitations. The original invite design was not "Chinese" enough. There was black on the original design and black represented death for the Chinese therefore, I had to replace the black with gold.

The inviation with the red strip removed. It can be removed and put back on the invite. It secures the whole package together.

The modified Chinese version. This Chinese version was mailed out to all our Chinese relatives and the other one was sent to all our non-Chinese guests. The inside of invites look exactly the same for both.
